I'm a wife, stay-at-home mom to six children (one of whom has Down syndrome), and the owner of an anxious English Springer Spaniel named Hamlet who likes to eat books. I'm a special needs mom, a cancer mom, a mom to teenagers, a mom of "advanced maternal age," but just a regular wife.
I'm an aspiring novelist working on my first novel, which, if it ever gets published, will probably be eaten by Hamlet.
Some days I want to be Mark Sisson, Reed Timmer, or Ana White. But, instead of paddleboarding, chasing tornadoes or building furniture, most days I'm shopping at Target, driving kids where they need to go, and trying to keep my hungry family fed.
If you spent any time at my house you'd see I'm not doing a very good job of resisting the chaos, but I can dream, right?
Edited to add: Sometime in the early morning hours of October 29, 2014, my 16 year old son took his own life. When I started this blog, the chaos of the aftermath of a suicide wasn't the chaos I was referring to. But here I am. Thanks for walking this journey with me.
